We are pleased to announce that Council for Children’s Rights is participating in United Way of Central Carolina’s new Charitable Partnership with the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and their Championship Football game that will be held in Charlotte each December through 2019.
The ACC-United Way Reading and Attendance Challenge, which was announced on October 15 and we are pleased to be one of the agencies participating in this effort. Working with CMS’s Truancy program, we’re challenging five children to improve attendance for one month (October 15 through November 17) and sending them along with a parent to the game.
This new and creative ACC-United Way Partnership does more than provide resources and incentives for the challenge. It is also is working to bring needed awareness around the community work in reading and attendance, and the larger goal of high school graduation.
