CMS Schools

Promoting Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month within CMS

Elementary students in grades 1 – 3 can participate in specially designed lessons to safely promote child abuse awareness. These lessons were designed by district staff and align to the NC Essential Standards for Health and Guidance. Secondary students can participate in our social media campaign- Pass the Pinwheel.  The students will take a photo with an actual or printed pinwheel using the hash tag #PassThePinwheel and challenge three other people to do the same.  Additionally, 40 elementary and middle schools will be chosen via a lottery to receive a pinwheel kit which includes ready-made pinwheels and a sign for display.
