Congratulations are in order for Council Board Chair, Brandon Lofton. The attorney with Robinson Bradshaw & Hinson has been named to the list of this year’s recipients of the Citizen Lawyer Award presented by the Local Bar Outreach Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association. He is the only Charlotte attorney to be so honored this year.
The Citizen Lawyer Award was established 10 years ago to recognize lawyers who demonstrate exemplary public service in their communities. Honorees have included government officials, coaches, mentors, and volunteer leaders serving in non-profit, civic, and community organizations.
Lofton joined the board of the Council in 2010 and has served as Chair since January of 2016. An active member of the community, Brandon’s past associations include serving on the board of directors of the Levine Museum of the New South and the Housing Advisory Board of Charlotte-Mecklenburg.
He earned his law degree from New York University, where he was a Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar, and received his BA from the UNC- Chapel Hill, where he graduated with highest honors and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He resides in Charlotte with his wife, Kellie, and their two sons, Brandon (10) and Caleb (8).
The 10th class of Citizen Lawyer Award recipients will be recognized at the 2017 NCBA Annual Meeting, scheduled June 22-25 at The Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville.
