First Wednesdays: School Discipline for Children with Disabilities

December 6, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

IEP, FBA, BIP, MDR, OSS, ISS…Find out how to decipher all the acronyms and learn more about school discipline processes for children with disabilities. Suspensions from school impede your child’s learning and overall academic achievement, and often are related to your child’s disability.

This workshop will help you understand the laws protecting children with disabilities and how to better advocate for your child’s emotional and behavioral needs.

What are First Wednesdays?

The First Wednesday Series of workshops and trainings offers an opportunity for parents, family members, and professionals who advocate for children to learn about special education and school discipline.

This session will take place in Training Room 1 in the Children and Family Services Center at the corner of Davidson and East Fifth Street in Charlotte.
