First Wednesdays: Section 504 Plans
February 7, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Ac t of 1973 is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against children with disabilities, and requires that the needs of children with disabilities be met as adequately as the needs of non-disabled children. Discover how a Section 504 Plan is the blueprint for a child’s access to learning at school.
This workshop will help you to understand who is protected under Section 504, how to request a Section 504 Plan, the differences between an IEP and a Section 504 Plan, and the available grievance procedures.
