First Wednesdays – Special Education Eligibility Process

October 4 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

This workshop is designed for those working with a child who does not yet receive special education. The presentation will provide an overview of special education, and will walk you through the eligibility process. Topics of discussion will include the responsibilities of the school district, how parents can request special education services for their child, the evaluation timeline, common evaluation tools, the determination of eligibility for services, and the important role parents play throughout the process.

What are First Wednesdays?

The First Wednesday Series of workshops and trainings offers an opportunity for parents, family members, and professionals who advocate for children to learn about special education and school discipline.

This session will take place in Training Room 1 in the Children and Family Services Center at the corner of Davidson and East Fifth Street in Charlotte.
