The Policy Team works on a local and state level to advocate for policy, system, and legislative changes that improve the collective outcomes for children in Mecklenburg County. The team utilizes message development, media campaigns, community organizing, legislative advocacy, and building alliances to address pertinent issues related to a child’s right to be safe, healthy, and educated.
Policy interns will have the opportunity to research legislation and evidence-based practices utilized in other communities to help influence systemic change. Interns will attend community meetings and presentations and assist with advancing the CFCR policy priorities.
Requirements for Candidates:
Junior or Senior level undergraduate; any graduate level
Major or coursework related to government, policy, education, or children
Strong research and writing skills
