On June 7, 2010, The Larry King Center for Building Children’s Futures released its 2010 Legislative Agenda today, outlining key legislative needs on behalf of children in Charlotte-Mecklenburg for passage by the N.C. legislature. The Larry King Center for Building Children’s Futures supports strategic approaches to meet the long-term needs of Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s children. The Larry King Center is a part of the Council for Children’s Rights and is named for the late Larry King, a tireless champion for children in North Carolina.

In partnership with the UNCC Urban Institute, we released a special report entitled “Child Abuse & Neglect in Mecklenburg County” during a media event on April 28, 2010. This report highlighted the finding that reports of child abuse and neglect have increased in Mecklenburg County since 2004. Please share this information with the appropriate parties.
