ANFCR: Yoga Event – Slow Flow Class

We are excited to offer a new way to connect to our community and tell the story of CFCR. We are a social justice organization focusing solely on child advocacy- in our advocacy we must understand deeply the impacts of trauma on child and ways to help them heal and cope, we need to be experts in fighting systems that fail to provide children resources and services they need, and we need to draw close to children in crisis and be that stabilizing force. It takes a high degree of passion to do this work- for us it is not a job, but a purpose in life. It is this concept of passion and purpose- of finding a life calling- that is so similar to the goals of yoga.  While many may think yoga is strictly a great workout (and it is)  there is so much more to yoga, the guiding principles, the purpose and beliefs — yoga provides a path where people can find true passion and purpose for their life. In this – this purpose, this passion-  there are many similarities between yoga principles and child advocacy- so here we are today- where these 2 world’s collide- child advocacy and yoga.

Are you aching to support CFCR … but also aching in your back just a little? Our professionally trained and licensed yoga instructor — our wonderful Executive Director Heather Johnson — will help you find your center and put your whole mind, body, and spirit into supporting our kids with a one hour slow flow class on April 2nd at 8:30am.

This hybrid event will have both in-person and virtual options depending on your comfort. There will be vaccine checks at the door for all in-person participants. In person attendees may join us on Saturday, April 2nd at 601 E 5th St in the Training Rooms on the first floor.
